I am (was 4 days ago) 465lbs. I have no other options left except surgery and I am too scared to do that. I went to this weight loss clinic called Medi weight loss clinic.
They took all different types of tests on me before putting me on the Ketogenic diet. They told me that for the first week I can only have proteins no carbs. But in the second week I will be introduced back into vegetables, fruits, and salad.
Today is day three and I feel really good. I know that this diet is going to be hard, but it has a lot of benefits.
I have being on Ketosis diet for 1 month and lost a total of 23 pounds it the best diet ever
Balance your diet

I too, used to be a very big woman...256 lbs about 14 years ago...and like you my only option was surgery. I researched the surgery for a year and then proceeded with a VBG (vertical banding gastroplasty). I lost 101 lbs in 9 months with a good balanced diet including juicing raw vegetables and fruit. Normally people with this surgery only keep the weight off for 5-7 years...I have kept all but 25 lbs off for the past 16 years...(1994). I am working at getting an extra 10 lbs off my frame with running, cycling weights and a balanced diet.
It is not easy, but it is worth it to have a well balanced diet and medical professionals who really know what they are doing. Personally I don't believe in diets where they restrict food groups because we need moderate amounts of these foods for our bodies to work properly but I do hope that the medical professionals you are working with know what they are doing and watch you carefully. Please take care of yourself.
Have you heard of the nutritional cleansing system Isagenix? I am a personal trainer in Las Vegas & have used this product on a number of clients who have lost weight. My wellness coach list 55 lbs in 4 months over 4 years ago & has kept it off since with maintenance. I meet a man last month at a nutritional seminar who lost 200 lbs in 300 days. I could get you in contact with him if you wanted to ask him questions. I would be more than happy to coach you (even if it's over the phone a few times a week keeping you on track & reach your goals).
The program is not calories restricted. It focuses on feeding your body nutrients in the most pure form.
I just wanted to wish you luck with your diet. Stay strong, though it may be hard at times, because it truly is worth it! There is no better feeling than being healthy!!!! I wish you luck!:)
You're off to a great start!

You seem to have the right attitude going into it. The first few days, possibly the first week or two, are usually a bit rough, but it sounds like you've gotten through that. Soon, if it hasn't happened already, you'll lose your cravings for sugar and starchy foods, so as long as you don't have that stuff around the house you'll be in good shape.
I don't know if they talked to you about exercise, but if you can get some walking it, it's *much* more effective when you're on this diet. Usually one of the first things that happens when you start exercising is your body tries to purge the insulin in your blood, since insulin prevents you from releasing fat stores for energy.
On a the ketogenic diet plan there's very little insulin to start with, so you immediately start shedding fat, and even if you don't burn it all off, without insulin you can't put it back where it came from, so it just comes out in your breath, urine and sweat.
